BLOODY Beautiful!!

We all have our bad phases. Be it a break up, a long distance relationship, a death or a failure.Life has its ups and downs. When the downs seep in, some of us like to be surrounded by people to distract us, but some of us ( like me) just need to be left alone. We are the kinds that can't cry in front of an audience. We need our space while 'boo'ing. We need to introspect, look at the people in conditions worse than us and to be able to then feel gratified with whatever we have left. Yeah! Yeah! call me selfish, hypocritical or whatever..but I am sorry I am going through a bad phase.

I happened to have a friend in Uttaranchal. ( Thank You God for giving me friends!!) I needed solitude. I needed to leave the hustle. I caught a train to Uttaranchal and landed myself there. This friend of mine took me to this place called Binsar. When I say place I don't mean a town or even a village. It doesn't have houses or huts or anything. It is just a 'piece of large land' situated on the top of the Jhandi Dhar hills. I would officially like to call this place as the paradise of India. It is heaven quite literally. You can ACTUALLY see the Himalayan range at an arms distance ( ok! I am exaggerating a little). But the giant'ness' of the visions around takes you to a different level. The Bird sanctuary, the trekking path, the mandir is total tranquil. There is almost no one out there because fortunately not many even know that this place even exists. Plus the kind of birds you get to meet are crazzy. Trust me guys.. this place will take you off depression in a matter of seconds. I have shared one of my real personal places right here... right now. DONT LET IT GO WASTE!!

Amidst the haze..

Life is with me when I am in a bus and i see the world falling behind me in sheets of visions that roll over each other in a jiffy. The world was trying to catch up and i was smirking at its unsuccessful attempts. What a looser!! You feel like you've won a battle and your inflated ego flares up even more. The emotions come to the fore and your subconscious mind gets even more vivid. It makes you think about your past present and your bloody future. It gives you jitters, nostalgia and a smile. Man!! I wish I could be a gypsy.

Today I want to go one of my most favorite place very nearby home. Neral. A small village in the outskirts of Mumbai. My childhood has been filled with fishing, swimming(or trying to) and boating out there. The place reminds me of the rurals and most earthy habits. You find kacha roads; cows, dogs, horses and donkeys everywhere; only one considerably nice hotel which all villagers drool at and a market filled with roadside vendors selling homemade products. Very interesting for a city dweller. (trust me!!) When you walk around donning a cool pair of shades and a nice bag, you are oggled at like a celebrity.

The place is primarily famous for its mini train which takes you to Matheran. Matheran is a pretty famous hill station mainly for its horse riding and red mud. maybe i will talk more about it some other time. The second thing it is famous for( or atleast I think it is!!) is the fish farm. It is friggin beautiful. The place has mini shacks surrounding and in the middle of a big pond. You stay, catch and eat fish. You have a campfire, chill, socialise basically go on a ride to heaven. It is so relaxing that coming back is like OHNO!!

The Humane Identity

Unbelievable is an understatement. I was laughing my ass off and calling my friend a retard for half an hour before I realized he wasn't really kidding. This palce actually exists. And that too in India!

Auroville is an 'experimental township' located in Tamil Nadu. The purpose of Auroville is to realize human unity. Where all men and women are allowed to live together above all castes, creed and nationalities. Yeah I know!! Sounds real philosophical and thats where my curiosity began. The most racially dicriminated and economically divided country in the world has this blooming in the heart of Tamil Nadu? It almost sounded like a rose just grew out of a bed of weeds.

The Mitramandir in the epicenter of the town is simply stunning. Complete silence is observed and it is also called the Peace area ( duh!!). If you want to feel spirituality, serve humanity or just find solace, this is the place to be. It is an adventure in its own weird sense. But if you are the kinds who loves rock, noise and headbanging. I'd suggest you stay away. You would do all of us peace lovers a huge favor.

For full enquiry about the place and how to get there plus the rates, basically anything; follow the link:

Silent mayhem!!

Travelling is a very situational thing. Some people like to travel and some people have to travel. This is strictly for the former ones. The place we are going to go today is so exciting that thinking about it gives me an adrenaline rush.
Kolad is a small village in the state of Maharashtra. It falls between the Mumbai-Goa route giving you a picturisque backdrop of the Sahyadri region. It is one of the most famous places for adventure sports. The best part about this place is the low headcount. This is the place to be if you want to beat the crowd.
The Kundalika river is the fastest flowing river in South India and gives you the most thrilling experience in white water rafting. The river's 14- kilometer stretch of rapid waves give you a satisfying one and a half hour to enjoy. Besides this, you have kayaking, paragliding, river crossing and boating. It is home to some of the most serene waterfalls and the greenery around is enchanting.

Some basic Information:-
Location: Maharashtra, Raigad district.
Best season: Jan- Feb.
Altitude: 60 m

How to get there?
It is best to travel by a private vehicle ( with an extra tyre in the backseat). Also this place has real low connectivity, so any wishes of leaving work and tensions behind are conveniently fulfilled.

Welcome :)

I find no pleasure intense enough than the thrills of unexpected visions, colours and new vivid inventions. The need to wear my shorts and shoes, pick up my bag and just leave home is so often that sometimes I wonder where my heart is. At home or on the path less travelled? To leave the monotonous, disjointed and oh-so-boring life and enter a world of utter fantasy is almost like an addiction. You could call me a thirsty traveller, a disconnected female with no ties that hold her firm on one place or just a moron who has had an adrenaline injection and rambling fanatically. It really doesnt matter. I love to travel. It is my source of inspiration, influence and awe. It is the one thing that brings my true self explode and it is one of the few things that brings revelation and enlightenment. It makes me wiser, happier and look at life more positively. (Though i fail miserably at the latter in most cases)

This blog is dedicated to all those people who chose the path less travelled. And I am sure that has made all the difference. And for all those who don't love exploring the wonders god created? Maybe you will after reading my blog :)
